A call to teach brought Lauren Phillips from Virginia back to Las Vegas.

A series of calls to Pulte Homes' Sky Pointe brought her to her new condominium.

  • Phillips completed a cross-country home purchase last year in time to become a Clark County elementary school teacher.

Her purchase of an 1199 model at Sky Pointe in the northwestern valley followed a citywide search and recommendations from family and friends.

"Everyone I spoke to was very happy with not only the customer service but the quality of the workmanship," she said.

Phillips grew up in Las Vegas and made a couple of trips back to the city before her move, but was largely dependent on the sales staff to help ensure her home would be ready in time.

"We spent a lot of time on the phone and they were very helpful," she said. "They handled everything, which was a great convenience to me."

Phillips said a big selling point for her was the condominium's two-car garage.

"Having a garage was a big thing," she said. "Also, the location is good. There's a lot of development going on in that area so I felt it was a good investment as well."

Priced from the $170,000s, Sky Pointe offers four floor plans that range up to 1,525 square feet, with one to three bedrooms and one to three baths.

Community amenities include a swimming pool area, landscaped grounds and gated access.

"I liked that it was a gated community -- that was really important," Phillips said. "I also like having a community pool so close to my home."

Pulte homes are constructed with Environments for Living building technology and include blown-in cellulose insulation and dual-pane, vinyl-framed, low-emittance windows.

Additionally, the homes include brand-name amenities as standard features. They include Corian solid surface countertops, York heating and air-conditioning systems, Mohawk flooring, Sherwin-Williams paint, Moen faucets, Kohler plumbing fixtures, General Electric appliances, Schlage door hardware, Sea Gull lighting and Zodiaq natural quartz surfaces.

To visit, take U.S. Highway 95 to Interstate 215, the Las Vegas Beltway, East exit. At the stop light, turn left and proceed north to Sky Pointe Drive, which will be on the right.
