Centex touts storage space at Cantura

Residences with island kitchens and three-car garages signal plenty of room for eating and storage space. That very combination draws home buyers to Centex Homes' Cantura neighborhood in North Las Vegas, according to sales executive Charlie Robinson.

"When home shoppers see our islands with countertop seating, they can picture the family preparing Thanksgiving dinner while watching football on the great room TV," Robinson said. "Our open floor plans, dining rooms and islands provide comfort and lots of usable space."

  • While Cantura's kitchens always catch buyers' eyes, Robinson said people are equally impressed with space utilization in garages and closets.

"Everyone remarks on our thoughtful designs. Our architects maximized every inch of these floor plans," he said, pointing out the 12-foot-high ceiling in the Sonata plan's walk-in closet. Nine-foot-high ceilings are standard; and select areas feature volume ceilings.

"People stare in amazement when they see the closet. Their minds go to work on everything from holiday decoration to shoe storage ideas," he said.

Robinson said storage options also abound in Cantura's three-car garages.

"People are really creative with the third space. Workshops, fitness rooms, hobby rooms, a safe place for the classic car -- the practical uses are endless," he said.

An single-story neighborhood in its closeout phase, Cantura's three floor plans offer 1,664 to 1,968 square feet. Homes include up to five bedrooms and two baths. The residences have great rooms, kitchen pantries and interior laundries with cabinets. Home sites measure a minimum of 6,000 square feet; and some can accommodate a swimming pool.

Homes are appointed with granite kitchen countertops, cherry or maple cabinetry, recessed lighting in select areas, plus built-in ledges, niches and pot shelves. A backyard barbecue gas stub-out provides options for outdoor cooking and entertaining. Family rooms and owner's suites are prewired for ceiling fans. Homes are also prewired for telephone and cable TV connections.

Homes at Cantura are Energy Star-certified and come with Centex Homes' Two-Year Fit-and-Finish Warranty, which extends the normal one-year coverage to two years at no additional cost.

Prices start in the upper $200,000s. Centex offers incentive programs to educators, health care providers, firefighters and law enforcement personnel as well as active, reserve, retired or veteran military members, according to Robinson.
