Ryland offers choices at Mountain's Edge

Ryland Homes offers five neighborhoods at Mountain's Edge, a master-planned community taking shape in the southwestern valley. Homes in Augusta, Belford and Ellingwood are located on some of the largest lots within Mountain's Edge.

The Cameron and Crestone neighborhoods offer access to a residents-only community pool and spa.

Belford is nearly sold out, with fewer than 10 home sites remaining at press time -- four of them available for quick move-in. Because Ryland Homes has paid off its special improvement district fees, the builder does not pass that charge on to buyers.

Ranging in size from 1,593 to 2,224 square feet, Belford homes still available are priced from the mid-$200,000s. The two-story home designs range from three to five bedrooms with up to 31/2 baths.

With both formal and casual living areas, the homes of Belford are designed for entertaining, family style. Kitchens flow into great rooms, so it's easy for grownups to keep an eye on the kids, even while cooking dinner. Flexible floor plans can allow the option of additional bedrooms with baths, or lofts. And for those who like the idea of extending their living spaces to the outdoors, there are rear deck and patio options available.

"The two plans we have available for quick move-in at Belford, Vettore and Vernon, are some of our most popular," Ryland sales agent Shelly Strait said. "Vettore has dual master bedrooms, one on each level with its own bath and walk-in closet." Vettore's options and upgrades include two-tone paint, upgraded kitchen cabinets, deck and patio.

Vernon has an open feeling that appeals to buyers, according to Strait. Vernon features a bonus room upstairs and a den downstairs.

Mountain's Edge offers abundant opportunities for recreation. Meandering walkways encourage leisurely strolls, and nearby Red Rock Canyon's biking and hiking trails offer a real workout. Exploration Park, Mountain Edge's recreation area, contains replicas of an old western town and Native American village as well as an archeological dig site, playgrounds and an amphitheater at the base of Exploration Peak, where trails lead up to panoramic valley views. There are plans for an extensive network of schools, professional offices, restaurants and shops, from boutiques to a full grocery store. To ensure lasting beauty and environmental integrity, the master plan includes 500 acres of open space and desert landscaping throughout the community.

To tour the model homes at Augusta, Belford and Ellingwood, take Interstate 15, exit Blue Diamond Road west (State Route 160), head south on Durango Drive, west on Gomer Road, south on El Capitan Way, then turn right on Sacramento Hills Avenue to Emerald Twilight to the models. Interested buyers should call 219-7413 for more information.

To visit, take I-15, exit Blue Diamond West, head south on Durango, west on Gomer, south on El Capitan then west on LeBaron and right on Dapple Gray Road. Models are at the corner of Dapple Gray and Indian Cane.
