The residents of one Las Vegas community aren't letting the recession put a damper on their holiday spirit. Neighbors in the Cambridge Homeowners Association hosted a holiday party Dec. 18 complete with a visit from Santa.

The community, located in the northwestern region of the valley, is comprised of 223 houses.

"We know it's a tough time for many people especially families," said Carla Patton, president of the homeowners association.

"This provided a great opportunity for us to get to know one another better and be better neighbors."

In addition to the holiday party, residents decorated homes with lights, inflatable displays and other decorations to celebrate the season and encourage community bonding.

"It's great to see a community come together like this," said Kevin Wallace, president and CEO of RMI Management, whose company manages the Cambridge Homeowners Association.

"These neighbors are taking the time to get to know one another and truly develop a sense of community."

KB Home's Cambridge Crossing community is located in the Providence master-planned community. Featuring a collection of homes ranging from 1,658 to 2,235 square feet, the neighborhood is close to amenities including recreational facilities, bike and walking trails, parks, entertainment and retail centers.
