Conestoga Golf Club opens to public in Del Webb's Sun City Mesquite

Sun City Mesquite, the flag ship Del Webb active adult community in Nevada, in partnership with Troon Golf opened the Conestoga Golf Club Jan. 31. The new par-3, 18-hole facility is located 80 miles north of Las Vegas in Mesquite.

"The opening of the Conestoga Golf Club has been a highly anticipated event," said Claire Varney, course general manager. Varney said the scenic championship-length course is interwoven with the character and contours of Sun City Mesquite's landforms. The course includes canyons with ascending and descending elevations, rock outcroppings and water elements.

"The masterful design and creativity of famed golf course designer, Gary Panks, provides this championship course the appearance of being crafted by nature and forged over time," Varney said.

The course is designed for players of all skills, whether novice or an avid player and welcomes spectators.

"We introduced the golf course to residents of Sun City Mesquite in November to rave reviews and are excited to open the facility to the general public and showcase the spectacular community of Sun City Mesquite while providing unparalleled service and an exceptional golf experience," said Scott Wright, president of the Pulte Homes Las Vegas Division.

In addition to the Conestoga Golf Club, residents of Sun City Mesquite have private access to a 30,000-square-foot community recreation center, which provides a range of recreational and social opportunities. It features a climate-controlled swimming pool, which can be used for activities such as lap swimming and water aerobics classes.

Other indoor amenities include a heated spa, a two-story fitness center with an upper- level walking track (offering views across the nearby mesa), kitchen, central hall, billiards room, lounge with plasma screen television, computer kiosks and rooms designated for various classes, hobbies and clubs.

Sun City Mesquite offers brand-new home designs starting from the $170,000s. The community features 14 one-story models, ranging from 1,241 to 3,075 square feet. The homes offer up to three bedrooms, up to 31/2 baths and an attached two-car garage. Options are available to expand each of the floor plans, adding bedrooms and baths, lofts, casitas or converting others to different uses, such as theater rooms, bonus rooms and dens.

All homes built by Del Webb are constructed with Environments for Living building technology. According to Panks, buying a home built to Environments for Living standards, homeowners enjoy improved indoor air quality; decreased heating and cooling costs; and increased comfort, durability and quality.

Troon Golf specializes in golf course management, development and marketing.
