KB Home to hold Tax Refund Rewards event through Sunday
Tools
KB Home will hold a Tax Refund Rewards event through Sunday at several Las Vegas Valley communities.
When Homebuyers purchase a move-in-ready KB home at a participating community, and bring their 2010 tax return, they could be eligible for a credit equal to their tax refund up to $5,000, to spend at KB Home Studio.
Buyers may put this savings toward kitchen upgrades, a master bath retreat or hardwood floors.
The studio credit can be used at the builder's Maravilla in Mountain's Edge in the southwest and Brookhaven in northwest Las Vegas.
Maravilla homes include as many as five bedrooms, three baths and two-car garages. The two-story homes range from 1,273 to 2,041 square feet.
In some plans, a loft space can be converted into an additional bedroom or utilized as a home office, study or media room.
Brookhaven is a gated community. It offers five floor plans from 1,612 to 2,165 square feet.
The two-story home designs include as many as five bedrooms, three baths and two-car garages.
All of the builder's Las Vegas communities have earned the Environmental Protection Agency's Energy Star and NV Energy's Energy Plus certification.
Features like programmable thermostats, radiant-barrier roof lining, low-e windows and efficient heating and cooling systems keep household utility bills low. A new Energy Star-qualified KB home is up to 45 percent more efficient than a home built as recently as the 1990s, and an Energy Plus certified home is 15 percent more efficient than that, company officials said
KB is now providing home shoppers with an estimate of their monthly energy utility costs, which it calls the Energy Performance Guide, or EPG.
It is similar to the miles per gallon rating or MPG, which reflects an automobile's fuel efficiency and is a standard disclosure when purchasing a car.
The EPG informs homeowners and prospective buyers about the relative energy efficiency of a KB home and provides them with an estimated dollar amount for monthly electric and gas energy costs.
KB Home officials said it is the first national builder to provide such a rating for all its homes and displays the EPG in all of its model homes in Las Vegas.
The Los Angeles-based company has delivered more than half a million quality homes for families since its founding in 1957.

My EPG KB Home is a EPiG, ENERGY PIG. Air conditioner fully breaks down for the fifth time (in 5 years) House is an intolerable 96 degrees. For the third successive summer this KB Homes air-conditioner has blown up due to no one at KB Homes knows what the hell they're doing. This proves once again there is no supervision and zero knowledge and zero testing at KB Home. KB Home has been named the #1 Green Homebuilder in a study by Calvert Investments and the #1 Homebuilder on FORTUNE magazine’s 2011 World’s Most Admired Companies list. Obviously you pay for these awards. Just Google a "KB Home sucks" for the people's choice awards.
