Mountain's Edge to host fall events

Mountain's Edge is home to several community events benefitting worthwhile nonprofit organizations.
The Candlelighters 5K and one-mile Race for Our Kids with Chet Buchanan takes place Sept. 17. Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Nevada raises funds for those affected by childhood cancer and educates the public on the impact cancer has on children and families. Presented by the Nevada Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, the fifth annual Family, Fur & Fun Festival is scheduled for Oct. 8. All events are at Exploration Park, which is south of the Mountain's Edge entrance at the intersection of Blue Diamond Road and South Buffalo Drive.
Food, refreshments and family activities will be offered at all the events.
The courses for the Candlelighters 5K & one mile Race for our Kids and Heart Walk begin and end at Exploration Park and weave through the 3,500-acre master-planned community.
The events coincide with the annual Discovery Days promotion at Mountain's Edge, which highlights the homebuilders' savings, promotions and incentives on a new home purchase. A variety of floor plans and amenities are offered. Discovery Days runs from September to October.
