  • "The Northern Exposure run and walk at Eldorado has become another popular tradition in North Las Vegas that attracts participants from the entire Las Vegas Valley," said Klif Andrews, Southern Nevada division president, Pardee Homes.

"Pardee has been the title sponsor of this event since it was started in 2000 and we remain committed to Eldorado, where we developed Seastrand Park and donated it to the city a decade ago. It is important for this company to support community events such as this and the annual Independence Day Jubilee."

The 10K race course winds through the developing communities in North Las Vegas.

More than $3,000 in cash and prizes will be distributed to the top three overall winners (male and female), top two in the masters divisions (male and female), and top three in each age division (male and female).

The 2-Mile Family Run/Walk is a separate course that's ideal for families and participants with strollers. Both courses wind through the master-planned community of Eldorado, developed by Pardee since 1990.

There will be live music and entertainment, food service vendors, a health fair and more.

All participants receive an official race T-shirt. Registration for the 10K is $22 for adults and $18 for children age 12 and under and $30 on the day of the event. Registration for the 2-Mile Family Run/Walk is $15 for adults and $10 for children age 12 and $25 and $20 respectively on the day of the event.

Discounts are offered for school teams and groups.

Entry forms can be picked up at the North Las Vegas Neighborhood Recreation Center, 1638 Bruce St. or Silver Mesa Recreation Center, 4025 Allen Lane. For more information, call 633-2650 or, to register online, visit active.com.

The 25-acre park, developed by Pardee and dedicated to the city of North Las Vegas, is named for the late North Las Vegas Mayor James Seastrand.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Make-A-Wish Southern Nevada Chapter.

The Eldorado community includes an elementary school named in honor of the late Pardee executive Lee Antonello, both the Seastrand and Eldorado parks, a fire station and nearby shopping centers.

Pardee Homes' neighborhoods in North Las Vegas include Riverstone at Prescott Park and Northpointe and Horizon located between Eldorado and Aliante. Sales office hours are 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday and from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday at all Pardee neighborhoods.

One of the West's largest and longest-established home builders, Pardee has built homes for more than 40,000 families in Southern Nevada since 1952 and has developed several master-planned communities, including Spring Valley, Eldorado and Nevada Trails.
