Centennial rallies in fifth, hands Shadow Ridge first loss of season

Juelaine Noa was 2-for-3 with two RBIs Monday as Centennial handed visiting Shadow Ridge its first loss of the season, 6-5.

Trailing 4-2 in the fifth inning, the Bulldogs (23-6, 8-2 Northwest) got three straight two-out, RBI singles by Johnna Brown, Katie Lee and Noa. Centennial added another run in the sixth.

  • The Mustangs (16-1, 9-1) threatened in the seventh, scoring a run and loading the bases with two outs. But Bulldogs pitcher Lauren Lynds got a strikeout to end the game.

    Coronado 12, Foothill 11 -- At Foothill, Kim Dawson's RBI single in the top of the seventh lifted the Cougars over the Falcons.

    Dawson was 3-for-5 with three RBIs, and Sarah Detwiler was 3-for-4 with three runs scored for Coronado.

    Rosie Ritchie and Maddie Wamsley each had three hits for Foothill.

    Cimarron-Memorial 3, Cheyenne 2 -- At Cimarron, the Spartans rallied for three runs in the bottom of the seventh to down the Desert Shields.

    Alex Goyen scored the winning run on a two-out single by Felicia Valdez. Valdez and Goyen each had two hits.

    Green Valley 4, Basic 1 -- At Green Valley, Alicia Firelein hit a pair of two-run homers to lead the Gators past the Wolves.

    Razia Ali allowed one earned run on five hits to get the win. She struck out 11 and walked none.

    Arbor View 4, Palo Verde 2 -- At Palo Verde, Kayla Griffith was 2-for-3 with two RBIs to lead the Aggies over the Panthers.

    Amanda Jones went the distance, allowing one earned run on five hits, to get the win.

    Legacy 16, Mojave 3 -- At Mojave, winning pitcher Jessie Wilhelm went 3-for-5 with a double, a triple and two RBIs to lead the Longhorns over the Rattlers in five innings.

    Christina Ortiz went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs, and Kaylan Hanson was 2-for-2 with two doubles for Legacy. Trina Wilson went 3-for-3 for Mojave.

    Liberty 14, Del Sol 0 -- At Liberty, Breanna English threw a four-hitter with seven strikeouts and went 2-for-4 with three RBIs to lead the Patriots to a five-inning win.

    Kristina Foti added two hits and three RBIs, and Rhiannon Beck was 3-for-4 with three runs scored and two RBIs for Liberty.

    Silverado 15, Tech 1 -- At Tech, Mikayla Thielges and Katie Devlin each homered to lead the Skyhawks over the Roadrunners.
