Sanchez scored his second goal of the game with two minutes to play, lifting Chaparral to a 2-1 upset victory over Southeast League champion Tech (12-2-3) in the Sunrise Region quarterfinals at Bettye Wilson Park.

"I had no clue that I was going to come back," Sanchez said. "I was in some serious pain. I've never felt it in my life. But it's the playoffs."

Sanchez took control of the ball near the top of the penalty box, turned to his left, then spun back and hit a right-footed shot into the upper right corner of the net to break a 1-1 tie.

Sanchez also had the other goal for the Cowboys, scoring on a free kick from just outside the penalty box in the 28th minute.

Tech's Luis Carranza tied the game seven minutes later.

Chaparral (6-6-3) will play Eldorado in the semifinals at 6 p.m. Thursday.

"We barely made it to the playoffs, but we're here," Sanchez said. "We're going to work hard and go all the way to the top."

• Eldorado 2, Silverado 0 -- Moises Ramirez scored in the first minute, and the Sundevils (12-1-5) held on to eliminate the Skyhawks (9-7-2) in a rematch of last year's Sunrise title game.

Josh Cormier added a second-half goal for Eldorado, which had been eliminated from the playoffs by Silverado the last three seasons.

Alberto Alvarez had six saves to get the shutout.

• Las Vegas 4, Coronado 1 -- Jaime Toscano scored twice to help the Northeast League champs eliminate the Cougars (8-6-3).

The Wildcats (12-0-3) will play Green Valley in the Sunrise semifinals at 4 p.m. Thursday.

• Green Valley 2, Valley 1 -- Andrew Buendia's goal just before halftime put the Gators ahead for good.

Tim Shue added a goal in the first five minutes of the second half for Green Valley (11-3-3).

Joey Lopez scored in the final six minutes for Valley (7-4-4).

SUNSET REGION

Palo Verde's Hugo Barajas scored three goals, including the winner six minutes into the second overtime, as the Panthers (12-5) nipped Durango, 3-2.

Durango (9-8-2) appeared to clear the ball, but Barajas flared his legs out to the right and was horizontal to the ground as he tucked a shot underneath the crossbar and inside the right post from 18 yards.

"I don't even know how I did it," Barajas said.

Bryan Capistro scored twice for Durango.

• Clark 2, Legacy 1 -- Salvador Bernal and Angelo Soro each scored a goal as the Southwest League champion Chargers (16-1-2) built a 2-0 lead and turned back the Longhorns (8-7-2).

Clark will face Palo Verde in a regional semifinal at 6 p.m. Thursday.

• Centennial 1, Spring Valley 0 -- Kevin Rogge broke a scoreless tie two minutes into overtime as the Northwest League champion Bulldogs (16-1) slipped past the Grizzlies (9-8-2) for their 16th consecutive victory.

Centennial peppered goalkeeper John Strand with countless scoring chances in the second half but couldn't break through.

• Bishop Gorman 5, Cimarron-Memorial 2 -- Cody Barnett broke a 2-2 tie by scoring on a penalty kick midway through the second half, leading the Gaels (15-6-1) past the Spartans (9-6-2).

Gorman will face Centennial at 4 p.m. Thursday.
