Floyd Mayweather Jr. has said rumblings about his financial troubles are nothing more than rumors, but public records obtained by The Associated Press show the boxer nicknamed "Money" owes about $6.4 million to the Internal Revenue Service and others.

The IRS hit the former pound-for-pound boxing king with a lien in October for $6.17 million in unpaid taxes from 2007. A New Jersey Superior Court judgment from the same year shows he owes $193,000 in state taxes there.

Leonard Ellerbe, Mayweather's manager, disputed the records.

''Floyd Mayweather does not have a problem with the IRS," Ellerbe said Thursday. "He doesn't owe the IRS $6.1 million ... I don't (care) what a lien says."

IRS spokesman Raphael Tulino said that the agency does not comment specifically on individual tax situations.

Donovan rips Beckham as bad MLS teammate

David Beckham has become a bad teammate on the MLS's Los Angeles Galaxy, according to Landon Donovan.

"All that we care about at a minimum is that he committed himself to us," Donovan was quoted as saying in an excerpt of Grant Wahl's book "The Beckham Experiment," set for publication July 14. "As time has gone on, that has not proven to be the case -- on the field, off the field.

''If someone's paying you more than anybody in the league, more than double anybody in the league, the least we expect is that you show up to every game, whether you're suspended or not. Show up and train hard. Show up and play hard."

Beckham joined the Galaxy in July 2007 from Real Madrid and has a $6.5 million average annual income from the team.

CFL fines wide receiver for TD salute to Jackson

The Canadian Football League fined Toronto Argonauts wide receiver Arland Bruce for "excessive actions" during his tribute to Michael Jackson after scoring a touchdown.

After scoring on a 21-yard pass that put Toronto ahead 6-0, Bruce removed his helmet, shoulder pads and uniform top, then lay in the end zone. Bruce said he was honoring the memory of Jackson by pretending to be buried.

Also: The Los Angeles Kings have a four-year deal in place with free-agent defenseman Rob Scuderi, who is leaving the Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins.

Right wing Mark Recchi has agreed to a one-year deal to stay with the Boston Bruins.

The Atlanta Thrashers signed free-agent forward Nik Antropov to a four-year, $16 million contract.

The Chicago Blackhawks have signed John Madden, a center who has spent his entire 10-year career with the New Jersey Devils.
