Agassi Prep duo key win over Meadows

• Mountain View’s Justyn Anderson scored his 2,000th career point, finishing with 29 points and eight steals in the Saints’ 69-57 home win over Calvary Chapel.
• Virgin Valley’s Daniel Gleave had 14 points and 13 rebounds as the Bulldogs downed host Enterprise (Utah), 50-31.
GIRLS
• Mountain View’s Patrice Marshall collected 15 points and eight steals in the Saints’ 37-15 home victory over Calvary Chapel.

Agassi Prep post players Anson Williams and Quincy Brown make a point of challenging each other in practice.
They are proving to be a challenge for opponents, too.
Williams had 16 points and 11 rebounds, Brown supplied 15 points and 12 rebounds, and the Stars held on for a 59-55 victory at The Meadows on Saturday in a crucial Class 2A Southern League game.
"We go hard at each other in practice and make sure we're pushing each other, because when we're out here on this court, we want to go hard against everybody," Brown said. "We want to make sure we get every rebound and no team gets second chances."
Brown scored nine points in the third quarter to help Agassi Prep (6-3, 3-0 2A Southern) build a 35-25 advantage, and the Stars led the rest of the way.
Curtis Watson made a 3-pointer from the right wing to give Agassi Prep a 55-49 lead with less than 2:30 remaining, then snared a defensive rebound on the other end to help seal the win.
Garrett Gosse's 3-pointer pulled The Meadows (7-4, 2-1) within 59-55 with 17 seconds left, but the Mustangs got no closer.
"The finish was great," Agassi Prep coach William Hopkins said. "They did what they had to do, and it's building character along the way. They're learning how to win close games."
Kailinn Jackson scored 14 points for Agassi Prep, and Watson contributed seven points, five assists and two steals.
Gosse had 18 points and seven rebounds for The Meadows, which had its four-game winning streak snapped. Max Newman scored 14 points for the Mustangs, and teammate Austin Brown had 10 points, six rebounds, five steals and four assists.

Norcom (Va.) snapped a 66-66 tie in the final 10 seconds and stunned Findlay Prep 68-66 on Saturday in the 7 Cities Roundball Classic at Portsmouth, Va.
Findlay Prep, ranked No. 4 by ESPN Rise, dropped to 17-2. Norcom, which extended its winning streak to 22, is ranked No. 23.
Norcom led 51-34 with just less than four minutes remaining in the third quarter before the Pilots went on a 28-6 run to take a 62-57 lead with 3:40 remaining.
The Pilots still held a 66-63 lead with just more than a minute remaining before Norcom scored the final five points.
