The junior guard scored a total of 71 points in two games to help the Eagles clinch their first playoff spot at the Class 2A level. Yamzon was 12-for-17 on 3-pointers and 17-for-19 on free throws. He also had 11 assists and eight steals.
FEMALE
Jaymee Luke
Cimarron-Memorial
The freshman soccer player scored midway through the first half to lift the Spartans to a 1-0 upset of Palo Verde. Luke also had four goals and two assists in a 7-1 win over Legacy.

■ ARBOR VIEW -- Girls bowler Andie Szekely had a 708 series, including a 259 game, in a 9-0 victory over Cimarron-Memorial for the Sunset Region title. Boys bowler Cameron Collins rolled a 526 series against Shadow Ridge.
■ BONANZA -- Girls basketball player Jessica Gallegos totaled 40 rebounds and 18 blocked shots in three games.
■ BOULDER CITY -- Girls basketball player Jeanette McQuillan scored 11 points in a 60-39 win at Moapa Valley.
■ CENTENNIAL -- Girls basketball player Jada Brown scored 17 points in a 79-13 victory over Mojave. Boys basketball player Dallin Layton scored 11 points in a 70-39 win over Mojave.
■ CHAPARRAL -- Boys basketball player Kevin Morgan averaged 17.3 points and 9.0 assists in three games.
■ CIMARRON-MEMORIAL -- Girls soccer goalkeeper Celene Johnson posted the shutout in a 1-0 victory over Palo Verde. Boys basketball player Deijon Spillers had 25 points and 11 rebounds in a win over Arbor View and 11 points and 10 boards in a victory over Palo Verde.
■ CORONADO -- Girls soccer player Nia Moreno totaled three goals in wins over Del Sol and Liberty. Wrestler Dayne Miller (120 pounds) won a 5-1 decision during a 54-6 victory over Del Sol.
■ DESERT OASIS -- Girls basketball player Isis Haywood totaled 24 points and 26 rebounds in wins over Sierra Vista and Durango. Wrestler Michael Becker (145 pounds) won each of his matches against Bishop Gorman and Clark.
■ DURANGO -- Wrestler Eduardo Penha (120 pounds) improved to 36-2 on the season.
■ FAITH LUTHERAN -- Wrestler Dylan DeFrank (170 pounds) pinned his opponent in matches with Legacy and Mojave.
■ GREEN VALLEY -- Girls basketball player Jill Harland had 18 points and 13 rebounds to help the Gators rally for a 51-48 win at Basic. Boys bowler Aaron Watkins had a 298 game in a 7-2 win over Coronado in a Sunrise Region semifinal.
■ THE MEADOWS -- Boys basketball player Eric Hirsberg scored 22 points in a 69-15 rout of Lincoln County.
■ MOUNTAIN VIEW -- Girls basketball player Rose Adkins scored 17 points in a 63-39 win over Laughlin. Boys basketball player Adonis Morris hit a go-ahead 3-pointer late in an 85-82 overtime win over Lake Mead.
■ SIERRA VISTA -- Girls soccer player Courtney Shay totaled two goals and one assist in wins over Bonanza and Western. Boys basketball player Sean Williams totaled 55 points in victories over Desert Oasis, Pahrump Valley and Spring Valley.
■ SILVERADO -- Girls basketball player Jasmyn Garcia totaled 28 points and 12 rebounds in wins over Del Sol and Tech. Wrestler Devon Sherman (152 pounds) won by pin during a 36-34 victory over Foothill.
