PICK OF THE WEEK:
DIVINE CAFE
6380 S. Valley View Blvd., Suite 310, at Sunset Road, 893-6444
DiVine Cafe knows its clientele and delivers a menu that is quick, refreshing and tasty. Executive chef David Lani begins the morning with creme brulee French toast made with challah bread and served with rum- and maple-glazed bananas and sausage. Now that's the way to start the day. Other favorites are vanilla bean Belgian waffle with seasonal berries, smoked salmon flatbread, Greek yogurt martini, breakfast sandwiches on pretzel rolls, New York steak and eggs with roasted Red Bliss potatoes and the Big Breakfast Burrito with sautéed peppers, onions, bacon, sausage, steak, potatoes, cheddar and scrambled eggs. Lunch specialties are chicken quesadilla, teriyaki-glazed salmon with brown rice, turkey meatloaf, grilled mahi mahi tacos with pineapple pico di gallo, spaghetti and meatballs, and assorted flatbreads (hummus, mushroom-artichoke, margherita). Among the sandwiches are quarter-pound Angus hamburgers, meatball hero, California chicken club, Texas toast grilled cheese and tuna or chicken salad on choice of bread. There are salads (turkey taco, mozzarella Caprese, cranberry chicken), soups and side dishes, including sweet potato tots, chipotle mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. Breakfast begins at $4.25 and sandwiches at $6.25. DiVine Cafe is open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. -- Jack Bulavsky
